Lots of fun! Two people who immediately irk and irritate are obviously soul-mates. Lots of learning about love, relationships, and Society... Beautifully written, great characters, and lots of witty dialogue. You "feel" for both Gail and Max -- what they've come from and through. The only nit I have is that Gail is barely 18 and Max is 28. I realize in many ways, this isn't unusual for the times; but I wished several times that Gail was at least 20. She seemed too mature for 18. (Or maybe Max seemed too immature for 28? Was that part of the point?)Some passionate scenes, but no gratuitous sex or lengthy descriptions of the passion. The author provides enough detail for the reader to use imagination about the specifics.
