Much Ado About Me
I'm a passionate reader since grade school age, when my grandmother used to shop garage sales to find classic books like Anna Karenina for me to devour. These days, my Kindle goes wherever I go, which means I'm constantly reading at least 3 books at the same time.
Reading is full of fascinating worlds to visit, new & interesting people to meet -- some like me, some so very not like me, adventures to boldly undertake, different historical and future times to explore, and sexy hunks, alpha males, and Highlanders to gain, lose, kiss, and keep!
I'm a professional writer - a technical communicator, educator, trainer, facilitator, editor, GUI/message content designer, and business analyst. It's my job to translate the technical and esoteric into meaningful, useful, usable chunks of information that make software products easy to use and easy to love. In my spare time, I've been known to write scripts, poems, plays, and short stories.
I believe I'm a writer BECAUSE of all the wonderful, magical books that I've read over the years.
Interests/Hobbies
Besides reading, which is arguably my biggest hobby, I love cooking, hosting parties (especially my annual Oscar party), traveling, Gals Nights Out or Weekends Away, watching movies & TV, wine tastings, shopping at farmers markets, hiking/walking, going to the beach (especially in San Diego), anything DISNEY, going on cruises, museums, hanging out with my family & friends, chatting with my book friends....
TV & Movies
My tastes in TV and movies are as eclectic as my taste in books, music, and food. I like variety! But here's what I'm watching on TV: Top Chef, Castle, Sons of Anarchy, Bones, NCIS, Elementary, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Scandal, Trophy Wife, The Mentalist, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hawaii Five-O, Davinci's Demons, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Masterpiece Mystery, Masterpiece Classic...
Here are a few of my favorite movies: Out of Africa, Apollo 13, Big, Julie & Julia, The Hunger Games, When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail, The Avengers, Thor, City of Angels, Meet Joe Black, Indiana Jones (all of them), Back to the Future (all of them), The Devil Wears Prada, and of course, Harry Potter and... (all of them). And so many more!
